About this tour

An 8-day small-group departure through Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka in peak autumn colour, travelling between cities by bullet train with daily Indian dinners.

This departure is timed for the second week of November, when autumn colour is usually at its peak in Kyoto and the summer humidity has gone. The route sticks to the Tokyo–Kyoto–Osaka corridor so that every intercity leg is a bullet train rather than a coach or a domestic flight.

Group size is capped at 18 travellers.

Frequently asked questions

Is this trip suitable if I have never travelled abroad?

Yes. A tour leader travels with the group from India, handles transfers and check-ins, and Japan's transport is among the easiest in the world to use.

How much walking should I expect?

Between 10,000 and 15,000 steps on most days, including stairs in train stations. Comfortable shoes matter more than anything else you pack.

Will I find vegetarian food?

Daily Indian dinners are included for this reason. Breakfast is at the hotel. Lunches are flexible, and the tour leader points out reliable vegetarian options each day.
